Grundfos Corporate Purchase AG
«Zug offers the best complete package. It is easier to find qualified employees here than anywhere else and the quality of living is excellent. All of our experiences in Zug have been positive.» Jonathan Bernsen, Project Manager for Grundfos.
Grundfos, founded in Denmark in 1945, is one of the leading suppliers of pumps and pump systems, with more than 80 companies worldwide. Regional and local branches also complement the sales and service-oriented organization. With an annual turnover of approximately three billion euros, the company, which has its headquarters in Bjerringbro/Denmark, employs more than 17,000 people around the world and produces over 16 million pumps annually.
«Within the context of a group-wide reorganization project, a new global organization for all of the Group's strategic purchasing is being developed. This is now located centrally in a single location in order to increase efficiency and transparency,» commented Klavs Hornum, Vice President Group Corporate Purchase and head of the new subsidiary in Zug.
Different international locations were evaluated as part of the reorganization project. The canton of Zug in Switzerland was selected because the complete package it offers was the most convincing. According to Jonathan Bernsen, Project Manager, it is easier to find highly-qualified employees here than anywhere else, and the quality of living is outstanding. Zug's close proximity to Zurich Airport is another plus.
Public officials in Zug provided Grundfos with active support during the entire process. The Kontaktstelle Wirtschaft, a location promotion office, addressed Grundfos' requirements and wishes directly and provided it with information tailored to its specific needs. In addition to this, the clear forward-looking orientation of the canton of Zug was particularly impressive.
