«Switzerland is one of our most important locations worldwide», said Dr. Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller in 2013 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of TRUMPF Maschinen AG.
The TRUMPF Group is a high-tech company specializing in production technology and laser technology. TRUMPF not only offers customers innovative, top-quality products but also solutions for their work – whether in sheet metal processing, laser technology for production processes or electronic applications. In the 2013/14 financial year, the company generated of EUR 2.58 billion with approx. 11,000 employees at 60 locations worldwide. TRUMPF Maschinen AG was established in Zug in 1963 as the first branch outside Germany. The approximately 250 employees at the Baar site are today primarily responsible for the sale and service of machine tools and laser technology, and for development and manufacture.
Before TRUMPF Maschinen AG was established, TRUMPF was only present in foreign markets through agents. The satisfying development of the Swiss market in previous years, the proximity to the parent company and the language made the Swiss market seem a predestined choice before further foreign markets with their own branches were added.
Organizational prerequisites and know-how are needed if you are to be successful at a location. It is precisely because these were present thanks to the high-tech cluster in the canton of Zug that we are so comfortable here, says Prof. Dr. Berthold Leibinger. A favorable environment for high-tech companies in particular has arisen in this region, and this also has an impact not least on the availability of highly qualified employees.
TRUMPF Maschinen AG values the quick and uncomplicated way in which the municipality of Baar and the canton of Zug handle matters.
