Detection of weather-related threats by camera
Zurich-based start-up Parquery has developed software that analyses images taken by cameras. AudioText Telecom AG (ATT) from Glattbrugg specializes in alarm systems. According to a press release, the two companies have now teamed up. They want to develop a new solution for a common customer, where cameras will detect weather-related conditions such as flood and heavy snowfall and, if necessary, trigger an alarm in order to prevent endangering the company premises. The new solution could however also be used for other applications where a situation, objects or other specifically defined parameters would be recognized and analyzed by camera.
Parquery was founded in 2014 as a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). The company's software is currently primarily used for providing data on parking occupancy in real time. ATT was founded in 1995 and since then has been developing customer-specific solutions in various alarm areas.
“Parquery's competence in object analysis, coupled with ATT's extensive experience and know-how in alerting, can open up many fields of activity for both companies. We are eager to see what the future holds”, commented Andrea Fossati, CEO Parquery.
