Andermatt UR - Stonehaven Incubate, a company based in the Greater Zurich Area, is making technological concepts that have proven to be beneficial to humans accessible for veterinary medicine as well. A current focus is on wearable devices for animals.

Stonehaven Incubate is aiming to make successful technological concepts for humans also accessible to the animal world. To this end, the company is proactively approaching other firms to evaluate their technologies. Where Stonehaven Incubate is able to identify potential for animals as well, this concept is, for example, subsequently further developed within the framework of a joint venture firm.

A current project pursued by Stonehaven Incubate involves wearable devices for animals. In February, a joint venture company, namely AniV8, which specializes in veterinary medicine, was established together with Dr. B Duncan X Lascelles. AniV8 is developing sensor technology for animals that aims is support diagnosis and treatment of illnesses among pets. Moreover, the company has commercialized a product that can measure the sensation of pain related to arthritis in pets.

Stonehaven Incubate was founded in 2018 by George Gunn, former CEO of Novartis Animal Health, in addition to Mark Heffernan and Matthias Hofer. The company is headquartered in Andermatt and is supported by the globally operating firm Elanco Animal Health, among others.
