Solothurn – Startup ASFALT from the Greater Zurich Area is launching its latest development, the ASFALT LR e-bike, on the market. At 120km, the range of this model is twice that of normal e-bikes. The batteries are fully integrated in the frame.

ASFALT LR weighs 19kg and boasts a minimalist design. The e-bike from startup ASFALT is equipped with two batteries, which are fully integrated in the bike frame and therefore cannot be seen. The batteries charge each other up, with one being removable, so it can be charged at home or in the office. The level indicator for the batteries is also integrated in the frame, negating the need for an additional display. What’s more, the e-bike has a fully integrated standlight feature.

According to ASFALT, the e-bike has a range of up to 120km, which is twice that of normal e-bikes on the market. The aim was to create “a pure, sleek design, without compromising on range, flexibility and the practicalities of charging,” explained David Oreiro, co-founder of ASFALT.

The press release reveals that ASFALT LR can be pre-ordered online in a choice of two colors from 23 March. ASFALT will also be showcasing its e-bike at the Spring Exhibition of Mercedes-Benz Automobil in Bellach SO and the Urban Bike Festival in Zurich, where interested visitors will have a chance to ride the bike.
