Winterthur/Zurich – The insurance group AXA and the start-up Veezoo are working together in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Together, the partners are launching a smart, dialog-based assistant, which can help process large volumes of data and answer questions about this as well.

The insurance group AXA handles huge volumes of data as part of its work. Processing these and filtering out the correct information is a highly time-consuming procedure. The smart assistant developed in tandem with the Zurich-based start-up Veezoo should provide some help with this task. The underlying software is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). It can analyze and visualize huge volumes of data within a matter of seconds, as explained in a press release. There is also an entry field in which users can ask the system content-related questions, which are then answered rapidly.

AXA and Veezoo’s jointly developed smart assistant is now set to be used by AXA sales consultants. Martin Studer, Head Sales Development & Controlling at AXA, commented: “As Veezoo is able to demonstratively and rapidly process the data, our sales consultants are provided with professional and efficient support for their daily work”.

AXA and Veezoo started their collaboration in 2016 within the framework of the Kickstart Accelerator program. Since then, they have already successfully tested the smart assistant in a pilot phase. The software is provided by Veezoo, a spin-off affiliated to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). Claudia Bienentreu, Head of AXA Innovation Management, explained: “Collaborating with start-ups is a rewarding experience for us all, requiring us to think outside of the box”.
