The New Silk Road allows goods to be transported faster and more cheaply between China and Europe, explained Arviem in a statement. However, freight trains must travel through temperature variations along the route.

Real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity and shock would guarantee the quality of the goods being transported, according to Arviem. The company has now launched a solution to provide information on this data, as well as on aspects including door opening on the freight containers.

Arviem’s solution contains a hardware that works via both satellite and GSM, a system used widely for mobile communication. As a result, it can monitor locations where the GSM connection is too weak.

The monitoring system is designed to help reduce costs, enhance efficiency and make transport more transparent. According to the statement, the technology has already been tested with a number of existing clients and is now available to all companies.
