Rümlang - Big Kaiser is expanding its offering of boring bars for turning machines by adding a model with a diameter of 60 millimeters. This is on top of the 40-mm and 32-mm versions that are already available. All of these boring bars include Smart Damper technology.

Big Kaiser is expanding its offering of Smart Damper boring bars for turning machines. The international precision tool manufacturer based in Rümlang in the canton of Zurich states in a corresponding press release: “The new ST50-SDB60DP-520 model is the largest in the family with a diameter of 60 millimeters and a length of 520 millimeters.” The new boring bar supplements the two versions already available with diameters of 40 and 32 millimeters.

Big Kaiser explains that the boring bars’ Smart Damper mechanism absorbs vibrations and prevents chatter. This enables a high-quality surface finish and precision when using the tool without reducing the cutting speed. Giampaolo Roccatello, Head of Sales & Marketing for Europe at Big Kaiser, commented in the press release: “The Smart Damper technology makes a huge difference in terms of eliminating vibrations and provides precise, rapid turning.”

All three boring bars are designed to be used in turning machines with cylindrical interfaces. Multiple turning tool holders enable different processing types on various turning plate geometries. Additionally, semi-processed turning tool holders can be purchased and adapted to the geometry of the insert. ce/hs
