Rümlang ZH – Big Kaiser, a precision tool manufacturer from the Greater Zurich Area, has developed a new digital fine boring head. The EWE Downsize helps make the machining of workpieces safer, faster and simpler.

The new EWE Downsize has a length of 26 mm and an outer diameter of 19.6 mm, Big Kaiser writes in its press release. The precision tool manufacturer from Rümlang highlights that its digital fine boring head, reportedly the smallest in the world, is ideal for machine tools with spindle sizes ISO 20, HSK-E25 and larger. The maximum machining depth is 16 mm.

Big Kaiser explains in the press release that the EWE Downsize does not have its own display on account of its compact size. Instead, diameter adjustment is shown on a smartphone or other mobile device via the specially developed Big Kaiser app.

According to Big Kaiser, the new fine boring head helps make the machining of workpieces safer, faster and simpler. “The EWE Downsize is the vanguard for future developments in the field of micromachining, demonstrating the strength of BIG KAISER’s in-house development capabilities in both analog and digital solutions,” comments José Fenollosa, Head of Research and Development at Big Kaiser. “This boring head is just one of many new and innovative products developed and manufactured by BIG KAISER.”
