The Lite.IM bot from Zug-based startup Zulu Republic is now integrated in WhatsApp, as was reported in an article on industry platform BTC ECHO. Lite.IM makes it possible to send and receive crypto currencies via the messaging service. It supports the currencies of Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ether (ETH) and Zulu (ZTX). The bot can currently communicate in English and Spanish.
WhatsApp alone has more than 1.5 billion users and is used almost everywhere in the world. The app has been part of internet giant Facebook since 2014. According to the online platform CryptoMonday, potential for the new service from Zulu Republic and WhatsApp is especially high in Southeast Asia and Africa. In these regions, access to bank accounts is tricky and bank fees are particularly steep, but WhatsApp is very popular and widely used.
