Training Planning Introduction Desktop - coachbetter (in German)

The subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform offers personalized training exercises developed by licensed coaches, team management services, game and training planning in addition to wide range of content to improve the development of both coaches and players. According to information from the company itself, at present the client base includes a total of 5,000 amateur coaches in addition to the football association of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, traditional German football clubs including Hessen Kassel and SpVgg Bayreuth as well as the Steven Gerrard Football Academy.

In 2019, the tactics and training session design board app “Moves – Design Your Play” was launched, before the Playbetter app was added in 2021. This shows players all performance data on their end device and facilitates direct communication with the coach.

“The latest seed stage will help us to bring training quality, communication and education to the next level”, comments Patrick Patzig, CEO and co-founder of coachbetter. Patrick Degen, Partner and Lead Investor at Swiss Founders Fund, points out that the company was able to significantly increase revenue and grow its user base during the pandemic, which shows “a clear need for the platform in the digital age”.
