Schlieren - The gene therapy company DiNAQOR has founded a subsidiary by the name of DiNAMIQS. The services offered by this new company aim to accelerate biomanufacturing processes in addition to improving quality control and development activities.

The Schlieren-based gene therapy firm DiNAQOR, headquartered at the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich in the canton of Zurich, has founded the subsidiary DiNAMIQS. Collaborations with other gene therapy companies are to be handled via the new company. According to a press release, DiNAMIQS offers biomanufacturing, process development, quality control and analytical development services. These are intended to shorted development time frames in addition to reducing both costs and risks.

DiNAMIQS is based at its parent company in the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. Eduard Ayuso, Chief Technology Officer at DiNAQOR, has been appointed as CEO of the new company. With its state-of-the-art facility and experienced viral vector manufacturing team, DiNAMIQS can help gene therapy developers shorten time-to-market, Ayuso states in the press release. The focus here is on closing the gaps between the provision of research-quality vectors, process development and high-quality manufacturing (GMP). According to the press release, particularly large systems for vector production are available for this - no longer just at lab scale, but with a capacity of up to 50 liters. The viral vectors are used to prepare genes for the bioproduction of drugs and therapies

“Additionally, many promising gene therapy programs slow down when the costs associated with scaling up their manufacturing begin to mount”, Ayuso explains further, adding that: “Our biomanufacturing expertise will enable these projects to move forward in a cost-effective way - and do so quickly”.

“Manufacturing viral vectors at meaningful bioreactor scale and using GMP-compatible processes for preclinical studies will improve quality and safety while accelerating development timelines for genetic medicines”, comments Johannes Holzmeister, Chairman and CEO of DiNAQOR, in the press release.
