Davos - The AO Foundation is planning to extend its research facility in Davos. The government of the canton of Graubünden has now put in place the requisite legal conditions for this. Surgeons specializing in the treatment of broken bones conduct research at the institute.

According to a press release, the government of the canton of Graubünden has put in place the requisite legal conditions for the expansion of the AO research institute in Davos. The working group for the issue of osteosynthesis (AO Foundation) has therefore now been granted permission to construct a new hall between the clinic buildings and outbuildings. In total, the research zone will be extended to cover an area of approximately 6,575 square meters.

The AO Foundation is a medical company managed by an international group of surgeons that specializes in the treatment of broken bones and musculoskeletal system. The Davos-based research facility currently offers 70 positions for researchers, students and trainees.

The research institute is also involved in the cantonal efforts to strengthen Graubünden as a center of research - for example at the Graduate School Graubünden, the City of Science Davos or in partnership with the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.
