GF has inaugurated its redesigned headquarters and the new customer training center for its largest division, GF Piping Systems. Around 100 guests were invited to the celebratory inauguration ceremony held in Schaffhausen last Friday.
According to a press release issued by the company, with this complete refurbishment, GF has sought to encourage exchange and cooperation among employees with a view to strengthening innovation within the company. “Innovation thrives when there is room for free and open discussion”, explains Joost Geginat, President of GF Piping Systems, adding that: “Creating a building that would encourage those kinds of conversations was one of our top priorities”.
The end result of the 18-month development has seen new offices, co-working, team and projects areas in addition to a training center with modern classrooms and a showroom constructed across an area of 3,000 square meters. With the newly installed solar panels, the building also complies with the Minergie standard. The investment volume totals around 20 million francs, with CEO Andreas Müller stating that this represents a clear commitment to this location: “GF was founded here in Schaffhausen 217 years ago. We are proud of our heritage and our history”.
Christian Amsler, Member of the cantonal Government Council, also took pride in the fact that “GF has such close ties to Schaffhausen”. He commented that this investment was by no means an easy decision to make in view of current global challenges.
