Schlieren/Ventura - The textile technology company HeiQ has developed a new odor protection product for textiles: HeiQ Mint. Based on mint oil, it keeps textiles fresh for longer, meaning that they do not need to be washed as often.

HeiQ Materials based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich has developed a new textile odor protection product together with Patagonia from Ventura, California. According to a press release, the HeiQ Mint textile technology is based on mint oil and keeps treated textiles fresh for longer. Even with regular textile use, washing can take place less frequently. HeiQ will be presenting HeiQ Mint at ISPO Munich trade fair from November 28 to 30.

HeiQ Mint blocks body odor in textiles, with the technology being refreshed with every wash. According to the company, HeiQ Mint is also ideal for textiles worn directly against the skin such as sports clothing, underwear, or bedsheets as it is made from natural ingredients.

HeiQ, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), has its headquarters at the IJZ innovation and startup center and is a member of Start Smart Schlieren.
