Hitachi Power Solutions will launch the new product both in Japan and worldwide in the beginning of December. According to a statement, the solution will help predict what is known as the “remaining useful life” of machinery and assets, which in turn will optimize stable operation of machinery and more accurately identify possible malfunctions.

Hitachi’s new solution uses advanced prognostic algorithms from the Greater Zurich Area. The software, which was developed by Cassantec, uses artificial intelligence to evaluate the malfunction risk at any point and predict the remaining useful life of different machines.

The calculation results are presented in a decision-oriented format to help optimize the necessary maintenance work. Thanks to the algorithm, Hitachi’s solution is more accurate at determining a machine’s status compared to other solutions on the market.

Cassantec was founded in 2007 in Zurich and collaborates with leading universities. The company supported by the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI).
