Lugano – The new eHealth Business training program at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) has received financial backing from Innosuisse. The program above all focuses on the development of business models in the area of digital health. These may help during future pandemics too.

The new eHealth Business program was launched in May by the BioBusiness program at the Center of Advanced Studies on Entrepreneurship in Biomedicine (CASE BioMed) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI: University of Italian Switzerland). Participants will learn, among other things, how companies in the field of digital health can be established. There is a focus here on commercializing technologies that may help during pandemics. These include, for example, digital tools to identify, track and treat diseases.

The eHealth Business program has now won the support of the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse). According to a press release issued by USI, Innosuisse will be providing financial backing to the program. The USI will be able to offer a total of 34 scholarships on the back of this support, while Innosuisse is underlining the vital importance of the program and ensuring that new editions can follow in the future, the press release states.

The BioBusiness program at CASE BioMed is celebrating its tenth birthday this year. However, 2020 represents a special year for the entire Faculty for Biomedicine at USI. In this regard, the Master in Human Medicine will also get underway this autumn.
