On May 5, the Division of Economic and Business Development of the Canton of Zurich, Greater Zurich Area Ltd (GZA) and the Innovation Park Zurich inaugurated their platform: Innovation Zurich. The event at the Innovation Park in Dübendorf in the canton of Zurich was opened by member of the cantonal government Carmen Walker Späh in front of a high-ranking audience, the cantonal location promotion agency writes in a corresponding press release. Innovation Zurich aims to provide organizations and companies with a place for networking, orientation, and news on the subject of innovation.
Thomas Gemperle, Co-Founder & Creative Director of Scewo AG, explains in a video embedded in the press release: “Innovation Zurich offers the opportunity for founders like me to enter into interesting collaborations and find the right partners in the area of smart systems.” Gregory Hintz from Sevensense presented his company’s technology based on artificial intelligence at the opening event. This can be used to enable robots to autonomously navigate various environments. Philipp Monnier of WayRay explained why his company had settled in Zurich. Further innovative projects were explored during the networking reception, including those from KYBURZ Switzerland AG, ddrobotec, Limbic Life, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and the Highland-Lynxes robotics team.
