Zug – The venture capital firm investiere is joining forces with the Belgian network BeAngels. It is now looking to agree further partnerships across Europe. In this way, Swiss start-ups would also have access to a larger network of international investors.

The venture capital firm investiere is regularly involved in financing rounds for Swiss start-ups as well as those located elsewhere in Europe. According to its own information, it has already made more than 100 investments – of which over 70 are located in Switzerland. According to a press release, it has now agreed a partnership with BeAngels, a business angels network based in Belgium. As part of this collaboration, BeAngels will have the opportunity, via the investiere platform, to take part in Series A and Series B financing rounds carried out by Swiss start-ups.

“The partnership with BeAngels demonstrates the strong desire in Europe to work together and to innovate in the field of financing start-ups”, comments Chris Gay-Crosier, Head of International Investments at investiere, in the press release. “Start-ups that are financed via our platform will be able to reach an even wider, international audience of investors”, he adds. According to information from the company itself, investiere is already working with investors in France and Germany, in addition to some located in both central and northern Europe. It is aiming to develop into a pan-European platform.

Investiere was founded back in 2010 and is operated by Verve Capital Partners, which is headquartered in Zug. A total of 68 business angels are behind the platform. In 2016, the Cantonal Bank of Zurich acquired a minority shareholding in the company.
