Neuhausen am Rheinfall - Johnson Controls in the Greater Zurich Area is integrating food monitoring into its digital operating platform for retail buildings. This aims to prevent food waste and make it easier to comply with regulations.

Johnson Controls is expanding its offering of connected solutions for retailers. Based in the canton of Schaffhausen, the company specializing in intelligent, safe, sustainable buildings and equipment is now offering PENN Connected. This food safety solution can be integrated into Johnson Controls’ digital retail operating platform called Sensormatic IQ.

With this, Johnson Controls’ brand Sensormatic Solutions plans to help retailers to combat food waste according to a press release. Furthermore, PENN Connected allows remote monitoring of storage temperatures for products. To do so, sensors are used to monitor stored food. The data collected in this way is assessed digitally and made available. Cloud and machine learning solutions are used to do so.
