Jura is tripling its laboratory capacity with the new JURA Campus in Niederbuchsiten. According to a press release, around 400 guests from approximately 40 countries attended the opening on 21 June. The new campus offers additional space for 50 employees to engage in research and development on around 5,000sqm. For this, the coffee machine manufacturer has invested 29 million francs, which is “a clear commitment to Switzerland as a location”.

“We want to remain a leader of innovation for automatic specialty coffee machines, raise the pace of innovation and bring about genuine innovation advances,” commented CEO Emanuel Probst. For this, the company is enhancing its focus on digitization and automation.

At the Jura campus, the performance of individual components after several years of operation in different climate zones will analyzed at 102 fully automated digital testing stations. State-of-the-art sensors supply vast amounts of data, which are evaluated by intelligent software.

The fully digitized laboratory enables the development team to effectively concentrate on its core tasks. The new center also promotes dialogue and knowledge transfers between individual R&D groups.
