The index composition is to be reviewed and adjusted on a quarterly basis.

To start with, this index strategy covers crypto assets including Algorand, Avalanche, Bitcoin, Cardano, Dogecoin, Ether, Litecoin, Polkadot, Polygon, Solana and XRP. “The certificate on the index allows investors to participate in the long-term prospects of this emerging asset class and it currently accounts for approximately 73% of the total crypto market capitalization”, comments, Managing Director and Head Crypto Offering at Leonteq, in a press release.

Since 2017, Leonteq has been issuing what are known as tracker certificates on the major cryptocurrencies in Switzerland. According to information from the Zurich-based fintech itself, it also offered the world’s first short tracker certificate on Bitcoin in the same year. It followed this up in 2018 with the first exchange-traded actively managed strategy as well as the world’s first reverse convertible on Bitcoin in 2019.
