Zurich/Zug – In the Zurich luxury hotel the Dolder Grand accommodation, food and spa treatments can be paid for with Bitcoin from May. The hotel will use an app developed by inacta AG from the Crypto Valley.

According to a press release, the Dolder Grand is the first Swiss luxury hotel to accept Bitcoin. It is working in partnership with inacta, a consultancy company specializing in blockchain technology from Zug. Inacta has developed an app called inapay. When payments are made via inapay Bitcoin is directly converted into Swiss francs. This ensures the smooth processing of Bitcoin payments without any currency risks for the hotel. The new payment option will be available from May.

André Meier, Director of Finance at Dolder Hotel AG explains, “We are always looking for ways of offering our guests more and many improvements over the last few years have only been possible because of new developments in technology. Cryptocurrencies will be indispensable in the future and it goes without saying that we want to increase the possible options during the payment process”.

Roger Darin, Head of Crypto Assets at inacta, also believes that Bitcoin will become more established as a means of payment. With inapay inacta wants to help restaurants, hotels and retailers to accept Bitcoin payments.
