The marketplace has been operational since the end of October, with participating hospitals and suppliers being given activation codes so they can begin transactions and bidding rounds. The first trading activities have been promising and the first contracts have already been concluded, according to hystrix medical.
The number of evaluation partners testing the marketplace is growing every week. Medicalboard GmbH, Nufer Medical and Medeco-ch Sàrl are now also involved, joining Muri Hospital, Unimeda and Medifa GmbH & Co. KG who came on board earlier this month. Pharmaceutical giant Roche joined the network in October.
Based in Biberist in the canton of Solothurn, hystrix medical aims to optimize processes at the interface of procurement and sales between hospitals, clinics, home and medical practices. Its marketplace allows providers of medical products, implants and services to sell to customers directly, which is particularly attractive for products that otherwise require costly compatible services and usually have low margins.
The company was founded in 2017, and its shareholders include Zühlke Ventures as institutional investor. It plans to expand its market presence to Germany, Austria and Great Britain in 2019.
