According to a press release on startupticker.ch, PiaVita has been named as one of the winners of this year’s IF Design Awards. The prize serves as recognition for exceptional design products from across the world. Among the 7,298 applicants from 56 countries, a total of 1,453 winners were selected by international design experts.
One of the 75 Gold Awards was presented to the MedTech start-up PiaVita, which has developed a set of smart tools to support veterinarians via a rapid and intuitive combination of proprietary sensor technologies and cloud applications. This system is a world first in the area of veterinary medicine, allowing veterinarians to measure and monitor vital functions on a continual, non-invasive basis. A wireless sensor ensures that this process is non-invasive and pain-free for the animals. “An exceptional product that allows veterinarians to quickly assess an animal’s health from any location, which has never been possible before", commented a jury member, before describing PiaVita’s development as being “pure innovation”.
