Zug/Bern - Swiss Post will now additionally use electric tricycles or trikes to deliver mail from the middle of January. The manufacturer, vRbikes.ch ag, is part of the Smart Urban Mobility division of the industry and data company vonRoll Infratec.

The new vR3.2 electric trike will be used at Swiss Post from mid-January onwards. Swiss Post will use the three-wheeled vehicles to deliver letters and packages. The trikes have been added to the fleet as part of its dual-source strategy. The manufacturer is vRbikes.ch, which belongs to the Smart Urban Mobility division of the industry and data company vonRoll Infratec based in Zug.

According to a press release, thanks to its modular assembly system, the trike can be adapted to the urban transport requirements of companies, communities, and private individuals. Swiss Post has chosen a configuration with sophisticated telemetry, a comprehensive service package, and a mobility guarantee. Final assembly of the e-trikes takes place at vonRoll’s Choindez factory in Delémont in the Swiss canton of Jura.

Franz Fabian, Head of Sales at vRbikes, commented: “Swiss Post is one of the most important reference points for innovation, environmental awareness, and professionalism. We have already received inquiries about the vR3.2 trike from other European countries.” mm
