Segway-Ninebot invests in Fixposition

Fixposition from Schlieren in the canton of Zurich has received an investment from the Chinese-North American company Segway-Ninebot. Based in Beijing and Bedford, Massachusetts, its European headquarters are located in Amsterdam. Segway-Ninebot will integrate Fixposition’s Precise Global Positioning technology into its final products: smart, electric, short-range transportation equipment and service robots. It is a key technology for the introduction of autonomous mobility solutions to the mass market.

According to a quote from Fixposition’s Co-Founder and CEO, Zhenzhong Su, in a press release, this is “a big recognition of Fixposition as a leader in providing Precise Global Positioning Everywhere.” He adds: “The 5 years’ continuous development and optimization of our Vision, IMU and GNSS deep fusion technology is now enabling Fixposition to not only attract industrial customers with the sensor product, but also more commercial customers are ready to invest into their future.”

Adam (Zongyi) Yin, Vice President of Investment at Segway-Ninebot, states: “We strongly believe this is the way forward to enable autonomous vehicles to operate with precise positioning in all environments. We witnessed the market growth for this technology accelerating and are excited to be part of it.”
