Siemens Smart Infrastructure is launching an open, interoperable and fully cloud-based smart building suite on the market, the Zug-based Siemens subsidiary writes in a press release. The various stakeholders such as building users, real estate investors, real estate companies and facility managers can digitally combine their building data from various sources via Building X, the press release explains further. The smart building suite is also able to integrate third-party software, in addition to offering a range of applications based on AI and integrated cyber security.

“We can now connect all data that smart building systems generate in one single data lake, scaling up smart buildings faster and moving closer to our vision of autonomous, net zero buildings”, explains Matthias Rebellius, managing board member of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure, in the press release. “Building X creates data-based outcomes for greater efficiency, performance and experience”, Rebellius concludes.

Applications including an Energy Manager, an Operations Manager, a Security Manager and a 360° Viewer App are currently available on Building X. The suite can be obtained in the form of software as a service on a subscription basis. In addition, Siemens offers the Xcelerator Building Services program based on Building X, in which Siemens assumes responsibility for achieving customer goals. In terms of examples here, the press release cites reducing energy costs and optimizing asset performance.
