Hünenberg ZG – A total of 2.7 million Swiss francs has been raised by guuru in a funding round. The startup from the Greater Zurich Area is developing software that allows companies to connect its customers so they can share their expertise.

Investors in guuru’s oversubscribed funding round included investiere.ch, the Swiss PostWayra – the innovation arm of Telefónica –  as well as the MS Direct Group and EquityPitcher, it was reported in a press release. The startup impressed with its software for companies which helps make loyal customers into customer consultants, known as “guurus”. For each submitted question, an algorithm finds the customer who is best suited to reply. Guurus set their availability and answer questions in a live chat app. The guuru solution is already being used by companies such as BRACK.CH, bexio, Freitag and Switzerland Tourism.

guuru will use the funds to accelerate its international expansion and further improve its algorithms. In particular, the company will focus on deepening its footprint in the markets of Germany and the UK. The startup already has a development agreement with Wayra in the UK.

Founded in 2015, guuru is registered in Hünenberg ZG. The company also has offices in Zug, Zurich, Lisbon and Munich.
