Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) has claimed first place in the categories of World’s Best First Class Lounge and World’s Best First Class Lounge Dining at the World Airline Awards organized by the market research institute Skytrax. The awards were presented during a Skytrax ceremony held in London, further details of which can be found in a press release. The Skytrax market researchers, who specialize in the field of aviation, surveyed around 13 million passengers from more than 100 countries around the world. Skytrax has been conducting the annual passenger survey since 1999.
This year, Swiss was also able to improve in the international ranking of the best airlines in the world. The Swiss airline was ranked 18th in 2021, before securing 10th place for 2022. In total, Skytrax evaluated more than 350 airlines.
“These awards confirm our standing as a strong premium brand”, comments Julia Hillenbrand, Head of Swiss Brand Experience, in connection with the awards for the airline’s first class lounges. She also explains that the company is “particularly proud” to have been named as one of the world’s top ten airlines by passengers. “That we have continued to convince our passengers of the outstanding quality of our product even through the extremely challenging past few years is thanks in no small part to the dedication and the professionalism of our employees”, Hillenbrand concludes.
The Swiss First Class Lounge A in Terminal A at Zurich Airport offers passengers a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the airport. In Terminal E, passengers can use the First Lounge E located right next to the departure gates for long-haul flights. According to the press release, the lounge offers, among other aspects, two hotel rooms, a conference room, mini-suites, a champagne bar and a 5-star à la carte restaurant.
