The US firm Dielectric has agreed a partnership with the Ticino-based start-up DAC System, as detailed in a press release. The two partners signed the contract valued at several million US dollars at the corporate headquarters of DAC System at Tecnopolo Ticino. The US Ambassador to Switzerland, Edward McMullen, was also present at this event.

DAC System has developed monitoring systems that can predict and prevent failures in large-scale antenna systems. The company has therefore assumed something of a pioneering role in this area. “There is no other technology on the market available that offers the opportunity of localization and failure prevention”, explains CEO Pietro Casati in an earlier interview with Switzerland Global Enterprise.

Dielectric supplies antennas and other solutions in the field of signal transmission. The company is a subsidiary of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which according to the press release is the leading company in the television industry in the USA. Within the framework of the agreement now concluded with DAC System, Dielectric has secured exclusive distribution rights for a monitoring system by the name of RF-Hawkeye in the USA. The contract has been agreed for a term of five years.

Stefano Rizzi, Director of the Economics Division at the Department of Finance and Economics for the canton of Ticino, welcomed the partnership between the two companies, the press release states. Rizzi is of the view that it will contribute towards the innovation ecosystem of Ticino gaining global recognition.

The monitoring systems developed by DAC System are already being used in various large cities around the world including Toronto, Berlin, London and Shenzhen. In the USA, the company’s monitoring systems have been installed at One World Trade Center in New York City.
