Zurich – Switzerland’s leading start-up competition expands its scope: “venture” is adding three new industry verticals and the prize money will be raised to over half a million Swiss francs.

The next edition of Switzerland’s leading “venture” start-up competition will be even more important. The categories under which start-ups can compete have been made more diversified. According to a press release, the competition wants to “align itself more with the pillars of the Swiss economy.”

Start-ups from the existing categories Health & Nutrition and Industrials & Engineering have until 26 March 2020 to submit their entries. Three new competition categories Retail & Consumer Services, ICT and Finance & Insurance have been added.

The price money has also been increased to 510,000 Swiss francs, and the grand prize winner will take home CHF 150,000. This competition is co-organized by the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and Lausanne (EPFL), McKinsey & Company, Knecht Holding and Innosuisse.
