Schlieren/Boston - Ten Swiss startups from the medtech sector have presented their business models to potential partners and investors in Boston. Their trip was organized by Venturelab.

Ten Swiss medtech startups have presented their innovations at a roadshow in Boston, Massachusetts, organized by the Venturelab initiative, as was reported in a press release. The ten startups form the Swiss National Startup Team Medtech 2022. Boston is one of the world’s major life sciences hubs and the ideal springboard for ambitious startups on their way to global expansion. Beyond the investor meetings, the founders expanded their knowledge with a MedScience Venture Panel at the Swissnex headquarters in Boston and with a pitch training session entitled “Get Your Startup Story Straight”.

The Venture Leaders Medtech roadshow offered a one-week deep dive into the life sciences ecosystem. The 2022 cohort included Gora Conley, CEO and co-founder of Annaida from Lausanne, who was selected as part of the 2020 team, but whose roadshow had to be delayed due to the pandemic.

The participating startups included aiEndoscopic from Zurich, which combines artificial intelligence with robotics. Arbrea Labs, also from Zurich, is developing a new approach to cosmetic surgery and aesthetic technology. The startup b-rayZ from Schlieren has developed software that uses artificial intelligence to easily detect, locate, and characterize breast cancer on medical images. Another Schlieren-based startup is Oncobit. It is a medtech spin-off from the University of Zurich that is developing precision diagnostic and monitoring assays for personalized cancer care.

ArcoScreenBearmindEarlySightRea Diagnostics and TWIICE are all from Lausanne. Lastly, MOMM Diagnostics, which has developed a new rapid diagnostic test for the early diagnosis of pre-eclampsia, is based in Basel.
