Zug/Hinwil ZH – The Bossard Group has acquired a 30 percent share of Ecoparts AG. The company is a pioneer in additive manufacturing for the metal segment and a leading provider in this sector in Switzerland.

Bossard is strengthening its competency in 3D printing. According to a press release, the provider of product solutions and services for industrial fastening and assembly technology has acquired a 30 percent share in Ecoparts AG. The company offers services in the generative design of metal components. These custom and series parts are used for prototypes, toolmaking, lightweight components, hybrid construction and additive manufacturing engineering. It is the largest service provider of its kind in Switzerland.

Ecoparts was founded in Rüti ZH by Daniel Kündig and Adrian Helbling in 2006. Last autumn, the company moved to new, larger premises in Hinwil, which also include a training room. The two founders have now reduced their stake of 50 percent to 20 percent. The other 50 percent remains in the hands of the vonRoll infratec Group based in Zug.

Bossard also acquired 49 percent of 3d-prototyp GmbH back in autumn. The company from Stans NW is an expert in the additive manufacturing of complex plastic parts and models.
