Nexxiot receives funding for logistics solution

Nexxiot develops sensors for the area of logistics that can be attached to freight wagons and ocean cargo containers. The recorded data is processed and analyzed there, and then made available to customers. The solution is already being used by companies such as SBB Cargo, the U.S. company Trinity Rail and Germany’s DB Cargo AG. In a press release, Nexxiot reports that is currently working on a project to digitize the world’s largest ULD (Unit Load Device) fleet. Nexxiot’s solution allows companies to use their fleets more efficiently and develop new business models, which will ultimately also help reduce carbon emissions.

Nexxiot has now been awarded a loan guarantee from the Swiss Technology Fund, enabling it to access favorable loan capital. The guarantee may amount to a maximum of three million Swiss francs. The climate policy instrument of the Swiss Confederation supports companies contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the conservation of natural resources and the promotion of renewable energies.

Nexxiot was founded as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) in 2015. The company is headquartered in Zurich and has offices in Germany and the USA. CEO Helmut Kaspers reports that the company is currently expanding its team of 56 employees in both Europe and the USA.
