Winterthur showcases itself in Hong Kong as a place of education

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) from Hong Kong invited a delegation from Winterthur to present the city as a place of education as part of the series of events Zürich Meets Hong Kong. Location Promotion Winterthur (soon to be House of Winterthur), which is also responsible for the International Congress on Vocational and Professional Education and Training, took this opportunity to hold a smaller version of the congress. 

A delegation headed by Carmen Walker Späh, a member of the Government Council of the canton of Zurich, and Michael Künzle, the mayor of Winterthur, travelled to Hong Kong for the event. They presented the Swiss education system as part of the seminar Skills for Success.

“I am proud and pleased that the city of Winterthur’s commitment to the international exchange and discussion on vocational training made its way to Hong Kong,” said Walker Späh.

In his speech, Künzle drew attention to the 3rd International Vocational and Professional Education and Training Congress, which will be held in Winterthur from 6 to 8 June 2018.
