Zurich – The start-up Numbrs from the Greater Zurich Area has raised a total of 40 million dollars. The fintech is now valued at over 1 billion dollars and can therefore be described as a unicorn.

Numbrs has raised 40 million dollars, according to information in a press release. The start-up has therefore now attracted almost 200 million dollars in investor funding. Overall, the company is now valued at more than 1 billion dollars and is therefore a new addition to the “few European fintech unicorns”.

Up until now, Numbrs has above all focused on private investors. CEO Martin Saidler commented: “Risk capital and private equity funds are generally less patient. They get nervous when it takes longer before a start-up begins to earn money”.

Numbrs has developed an app via which users can manage all their bank accounts. They can apply for credit cards and agree insurance policies via the app. To this end, Numbrs has already agreed partnerships with banks and insurance firms such as Barclaycard, Postbank, Santander, Bank of Scotland, Allianz and AXA.

The Numbrs app has been downloaded two million times already, according to the information available. Assets managed via the app total in excess of 10 billion euros. The new unicorn from the Greater Zurich Area was also included on the homepage of news agency Bloomberg on Thursday.
