Wollerau SZ – Bodo Lambertz has won the Plus X Lifetime Achievement Award. The founder of X-Technology Swiss R&D AG has been developing high-tech functional textiles for several decades.

Professor Bodo Lambertz has been awarded the Plus XLifetime Achievement Award. Lambertz is the visionary inventor behind the high-tech functional clothing brand X-BIONIC. Plus X honored him with its prestigious award for his bionic-inspired technology, which has revolutionized the world of sports apparel, and his pioneering work in the field of textiles.

Lambertz is only the seventh person to receive the Plus X Lifetime Achievement Award. Previous winners include Sir James Dyson, the inventor of the Dyson vacuum cleaner, who won in 2007.

Lambertz founded X-Technology Swiss R&D AG in Wollerau in the canton of Schwyz in 1997. The technology company develops innovative products for its own brands and on behalf of customers. Lambertz also founded the brands X-BIONIC and X-SOCKS, which produce high-tech functional clothing worn by sports enthusiasts and professional athletes around the world. Together, the two brands have more than 800 patent applications worldwide and have won over 600 awards.

“We have introduced technology into our products,” Lambertz said at the award ceremony in Bonn. “We make high-tech”. He is convinced that the overall trend is returning back to quality and durability, which is why X-BIONIC products come with a two-year guarantee.

Lambertz has particularly positive words for Switzerland as a business location. “Switzerland is a fortunate country, especially the canton where we are located,” he said at the award ceremony, adding that its small size facilitates networking and its municipalities and cantons are in a healthy competition to take care of their companies.
