Zurich – The Trip Boutique uses artificial intelligence to offer personalized holidays. The startup has now impressed a number of investors, including Orascom founder Samih Sawiris and Elisabeth Stevens, former director at Booking.com.

Zurich startup The Trip Boutique has concluded a first financing round, as was reported in a press release. An investment was made by Egyptian tourism entrepreneur Samih Sawiris, who also founded Orascom Development Holding. Other investors include Elisabeth Stevens, former director at Booking.com, and Susanna Lemann, founder of the luxury travel company Matueté as well as board director at the Lemann Foundation and the Roger Federer Foundation. Lemann and Stevens will now also be members of the board of directors at The Trip Boutique.

The Trip Boutique was founded in 2017 and focuses on the personalization of travel experiences through artificial intelligence. The startup has built a suite of proprietary tools and a matching technology to identify the hotels, restaurants, activities, attractions and experiences in a destination that best fit each client’s interests. A custom-made and bookable travel itinerary is designed and delivered to each traveler.

The proceeds of the funding round will be utilized to expand the startup’s portfolio of destinations and further develop its technology.

“The commitment from the investors amidst challenging times for the travel industry shows that they strongly believe in our value proposition and growth potential,” said Fernanda Barrence Mutz, CEO and co-founder of The Trip Boutique.

According to tourism expert Samih Sawiris, “the Trip Boutique has a future-oriented idea and there is clear market demand. I believe that this team has the talent and smarts to take it to the next level.”
