On October 1, AXA Switzerland founded a stand-alone technology company. In the future, this entity will be responsible for handling claims processes for the largest motor vehicle insurer in the country with the help of AI. Daniel Meier, who was previously Head of Mobility Insurance at AXA Switzerland, has been appointed CEO of the new company.
Despite regular investments, the 300,000 to 400,000 damage claims reported each year remain too much of a time and administration burden on the company’s employees. “Our plan is to solve this problem with a completely new approach”, explains Dominique Kasper, Head of Property & Casualty, in a press release.
The damage processes are to be comprehensively redesigned through the use of new technologies such as computer vision and machine learning. To make these plans a reality, AXA Switzerland is keen to enter into a partnership with an innovative technology company. Before this, the processing of motor vehicle damage will be digitized in the first step, making it both more efficient and more cost-effective.
