Interroll launches modular Light Conveyor Platform

The automation company Interroll is expanding its range with a flexible conveyor solutions for smaller goods. According to a press release, the Light Conveyor Platform is designed as a plug-and-play modular system to implement scalable belt conveyor sections for efficient material feed and discharge. Material flow plays a crucial role in realizing the productivity potential of manufacturing cells, assembly and packaging stations.

The fully modular system is intended for rapidly changing process environments. It can be planned and assembled very easily and conveniently on the PC monitor. “This drastically reduces project lead times and the necessary effort for system integrators.” What’s more, the predefined module sizes allow for fast production and delivery times.

The conveyors are driven by drum motors, which are compact and energy-efficient and have an efficiency of over 85 percent. It can also handle inclines or declines. Optionally, the platform can be put into operation via an autonomous machine control system, which can be connected without an additional programmable logic controller.

The system reportedly enables maximum workplace safety and a pleasant working environment. It features an “integrated emergency shutdown at the push of a button” and has a “quiet noise level during operation”. It was developed according to Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DMFA) standards and extensively tested before market launch.
