Zynnon is working on a solution to determine the risk of respiratory infection transmission. For this, the start-up based in the canton of Schwyz is focusing on the interiors of hospitals and healthcare facilities in particular. According to a company press release, respiratory infections are the third most common cause of death around the world. The risk of transmission in hospitals was once again clearly demonstrated during the COVID-19 crisis.
Zynnon focuses on modeling airborne virus transmission. For this purpose, real-time data is collected in hospitals and evaluated with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company is ultimately seeking to develop a solution to predict the risk of transmission, which it is hoped will facilitate the implementation of preventive or curative measures.
In tandem with both the research and development center CSEM and La Source Institute and School of Nursing, Zynnon is now putting its development to the test. The joint project has received a grant from Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency, to the tune of 800,000 Swiss francs.
