Zurich/Beijing - The SIX Swiss Exchange has taken on its first Chinese member: China International Capital Corporation (UK) Limited. The Beijing-based investment bank sees this as a milestone on its path toward European and international expansion.

China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) has announced that its UK subsidiary China International Capital Corporation (UK) is the newest member of the SIX Swiss Exchange. CEO Xinhan Xia stated in a press release from the bank: “It will enable us to better connect the capital markets and investors between China, Switzerland and Europe. This is another key milestone on CICC’s ongoing journey of European and internationalization expansion.”

CICC UK was established in 2009 and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority of the United Kingdom. In 2018, it was also the first Chinese investment bank to join the London Stock Exchange. According to the information provided, it provides a central platform through which CICC facilitates cross-border investment and financing services for a growing number of clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa who do business with China. It also offers its services to Chinese clientele pursuing cross-border investments and foreign funding.
