Miromico to manufacture 26,000 climate sensors for Ecco2

Ecco2 is ramping up its production volume from over 11,000 units in the past two years to a total of 26,000 climate sensors. As a provider of smart solutions for buildings, the company headquartered in Givisiez in the canton of Fribourg is therefore seeking to reduce the consumption of heating energy. These sensors are manufactured by the Zurich-based high-tech firm Miromico, which specializes in development services for integrated circuitry, electronic systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). According to a press release, Miromico has been Ecco2’s “trusted hardware manufacturer for years”

Alain Wagnières, Head of Operations at Ecco2, explains in the press release that with the increased production volume Ecco2 has set its sights on achieving “energy savings on up to 4,000,000 square meters of heated area as of 2023. This manufacturing effort enables Ecco2 to fulfill its vision of deploying 50,000,000 KWh of yearly energy savings by next winter”.

In Switzerland, Ecco2 won the Prix d’Innovation in the Digital category at the annual event for real estate professionals, Rent Switzerland. The company also finished in second place for the Swisscom IoT Climate Award 2022.
