Zurich/Exton - The startup Teralytics from the Greater Zurich Area is acquiring the mobility data business of American company Bentley Systems. Bentley Systems is also investing in Teralytics. Teralytics plans to strengthen its presence in North America with this agreement.

Teralytics is acquiring the Streetlytics business area from software provider Bentley Systems based in Exton, Pennsylvania. According to a press release, the Zurich-based startup has simultaneously gained Bentley Systems as an investor. The companies have not shared details on the purchase price or investment amount.

Teralytics specializes in the analysis of human mobility data. By acquiring Streetlytics, the company plans to develop its expertise in this area. Santanu Das, Chief Acceleration Officer at Bentley Systems, commented: “Combining Teralytics’ and Streetlytics’ capabilities, technology and experience will create a global mobility insights powerhouse much needed in today’s world to better model, forecast and analyze movement.”

Citilabs, the company behind Streetlytics, was taken on by Bentley Systems in 2019. With the recent acquisition, former Citilabs CEO Michael Clarke will also join Teralytics. Along with his team, he plans to help the Zurich-based startup to strengthen its presence on the North American market.
