Zurich - The independent Swiss Game Developers Association has selected the best Swiss games of the year for the ninth time. Okomotive AG won two awards for its game, FAR: Changing Tides. Three other titles were among the winners.

At Gamesweek Zurich on November 11, the Swiss Game Developers Association gave awards for the best Swiss digital games of the year in the auditorium of the Hochschule für Wirtschaft Zürich [Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration]. According to a press release from the Swiss Game Developers Association, there were three winning games across the four categories: FAR: Changing Tides; Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions; and Lausanne 1830: Histoires de registers. Vote Now!, a game developed by Joël Rimaz, a student at the University of Lausanne, won the Junior Swiss Game Award.

This year, the developers of FAR: Changing Tides took home two awards for the second time in a row. The game, developed by Okomotive from Zurich, won the Best Entertainment Game Award as well as the Audience Choice Award. Its predecessor, FAR: Lone Sails, also won both categories in 2019.

Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions from Studio Momo-pi won over the jury in the Excellence in Execution category. The studio based in Bulle in the canton of Fribourg had already won in this category in 2019 with its game Persephone. Lausanne 1830: Histoires de registers was victorious in the Serious Game category. The game was developed by Digital Kingdom from Vevey in the canton of Vaud in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and University of Lausanne (UNIL). It introduces the local history of Lausanne in a pixel-art style.
