Kloten/London - Zurich Airport has been named as the world’s best airport for security controls by the international rating organization Skytrax in 2023. In the rankings of the best airports overall, Zurich has risen one place from 9th in the previous year to 8th for 2023.

Zurich Airport has once again been named as the best in the world for security controls. This recognition comes as part of the 2023 World Airport Awards, which were presented by the London-based airport rating agency Skytrax during the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Amsterdam.

This award for the best airport security in the world encompasses multiple aspects of security screening, including waiting times, queuing systems, priority lanes, intelligent security options, efficiency and the courtesy of security personnel. It is one of six special awards that Skytrax hands out each year.

The main award for the best airport in the world in 2023 went to Singapore Changi Airport, which also claimed the special awards for the best culinary and best leisure offerings in the world. Zurich improved in the main ranking, rising from 9th place last year to 8th place in 2023. Doha Hamad International Airport is ranked in second place, followed by Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Incheon and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, in addition to Istanbul and Munich airports. mm
