Baar ZG – The fast food chain Burger King has won the Tell Award for its investment in the canton of Zug. The prize honours important investment projects the North American company has pursued in Switzerland.

The Burger King Corporation from Miami established its Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters in the canton of Zug. The company belongs to Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Tim Hortons and Popeyes. Together, they have some 23,000 restaurants in just under 100 countries.

Baar serves as the operations centre for Burger King in the EMEA region, Tim Hortons International and Restaurant Brands International’s global procurement department. In a statement, Burger King praised Switzerland’s central location in Europe.

Now, Burger King has won the Tell Award for its investment in the canton of Zug. The prize, named after the legendary Swiss hero William Tell, honours important investment projects pursued by North American companies in Switzerland.

The awards were presented during a ceremony in New York by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) and Bloomberg.
