Chur – Data form the new basis for service provision. HTW Chur is now using a research project to examine how companies can best implement such services sustainably. The university is receiving support from Innosuisse.

Data-based services open new opportunities to companies, such as the provision of predictive maintenance and thereby a guaranteed availability of machinery, according to HTW Chur. The Swiss Institute for Entrepreneurship (SIFE) at HTW Chur is now working with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) to examine how data-based services can be implemented sustainably. They are receiving support from Innosuisse for the project.

The researchers expect the sustainable implementation of data-based services to necessitate an optimization of the socio-technical system. The goal is to develop an approach based on the consideration of measures concerning people, processes and technology, with a primary aim of creating data-based services and demonstrating the necessity of overall system optimization. Support would then be available to put any of these measures into practice, which could encompass programming platforms or the development of artificial intelligence, according to SIFE.

SIFE at HTW Chur supports companies with the realization of changes and the implementation of the digital transformation. With partners from the economy, it seeks to find new economic, technical, organizational and social solutions and supports their implementation.
