The new subsidiary concentrates on global procurement for SABMiller. Over 100 employees carry out all of the activities along the procurement and production chain of SABMiller’s many different products. Completely new synergy effects can be achieved thanks to this concentration.

SABMiller moved its European headquarters from Hungary to Zug in 2007 and felt very much at home in Switzerland. It thus made sense that the procurement concentration would be established in Zug as well. Dieter Schulze, CEO of SABMiller Procurement, had the following to say on the subject: "The canton of Zug offers our employees an unbelievably high quality of living, a fantastic transportation infrastructure, an intact natural environment and a platform for innovation, all set in a breathtaking geographical landscape. The combination of these factors made it easy for us to decide to set up our corporate headquarters in Zug."

The public authorities supported SABMiller Procurement from the outset by providing information, searching for office space, applying for work and residency permits and taking care of smaller day-to-day issues as well.
